Assertiveness at Work for Legal Professionals

Assertiveness is about effective communication, appropriate behaviour and positive mental models. By steering a path between aggressive and submissive behaviour, assertive individuals are able to develop highly productive, positive and enjoyable working relationships.

This course looks at skills and techniques to help delegates deal with difficult or emotional clients, communicate clearly with demanding or aggressive people and discuss thorny issues such as money and fees with confidence. The course uses psychometric assessments to help delegates gain a new perspective on their
behaviour and mental models.

Delegates will take part in practical exercises, interactive sessions and discussions to help build their understanding of the underlying causes for unassertive behaviour and will learn how to develop their confidence and assertiveness with a range of techniques and models developed by communication experts.
