20 second overview

This comprehensive three day workshop explores the how, why and what of preparing for and delivering effective training. Our workshop aims to fully enhance trainer skills, provide priceless opportunities for practice, and develop delegates' confidence, leaving attendees equipped to deliver inspiring, high impact classroom based training to small groups of delegates.

During the course we will examine everything that needs to be considered before, during and after effective training sessions. From detailed planning and preparation to what happens when you’re faced with those who are resistant to the focus of your training, course content will reflect the most important processes and situations involved in delivering top quality training.

Train-the-trainer training courses have maximum delegate numbers of 7, meaning lots of individual advice and support for everyone taking part.

Key content includes:

> discussing, sharing and practicing effective training techniques

> exploring briefly some learning theories
> structuring a training session
> exploring ways to facilitate trainee interaction and engagement
> preparing for and delivering part of a brief training session
> knowing what already works about their personal training style
> dealing with nightmare training scenarios and difficult delegates
> giving and receiving constructive training feedback
> Ensuring delegate needs are met

Key Benefits of this Course

By the end of the programme you will be able to:
  • Identify training activities and write objectives that are appropriate for interactive group training sessions

  • Carry out interactive training sessions at a pace and sequence that maximises learning
  • Provide constructive feedback to learners following practice sessions

Course Rationale

The difference between average training that just goes through the motions, and the kind of training that inspires, empowers and makes a real and lasting difference to the skills and confidence of those attending is clearly huge.

The responsibility on trainers to deliver significant results in return for the investment of money and time put in by delegates is great. It is therefore vital that those charged with delivering training are equipped with the right set of skills along with a good understanding of the psychology of learning and the communication skills to deliver a confident, well structured and focused training session that meets delegate needs head on.

Why training can be so notoriously ‘hit and miss’ in terms of its effectiveness is often nothing to do with the training content itself - but all the other ‘stuff’ that can be going on underneath the surface of the training relationship. This course develops delegates' understanding of the keys to effective training as well as the impediments - and how to avoid them. Developing a structured, best practice approach along with the confidence and delivery skills to maximise training impact, this comprehensive course is the complete programme for anyone looking to deliver training to a professional audience.

"Designed around the specific needs of those attending, we will be using all we do together as a live case study of the choices available to every trainer when faced with a group of trainees.  Making conscious all that is going on in the room makes this an enjoyable and relevant three days."
