 Managing Change Training

Next open course date: TBC, £475+VAT per delegate

Available in-house: Yes, please contact us for details.

20 second overview

Change can be tricky to manage. This course helps support you through the process of pre-empting and dealing with the potential maelstrom of emotion that can be caused amongst those you need to manage.

Our managing change training day will offer you some clear insights into what may going on under the surface of change and what practical steps you might need to take up front. We consider how to remain calm, professional and objective when dealing with the demands of change. Not only will colleagues explore these vital management skills for times of stress and potential conflict, but such skills will be equally valuable in managing people over more stable times. Delegates will learn:

> To consider change as a universal process which often involves predictable stages

> To offer a greater understanding of the impact of change on delegates themselves, as well as on those they may need to manage

> To support the building and maintaining of good working relationships through times of stress and change

> To practice using a variety of tools useful in managing or leading an individual, team or organisation through change

> To consider ways to promote increased motivation and confidence in others

> To deal assertively with potential conflict that may arise

To share practical ways to plan for and implement change

Key Benefits of this Course

  • To provide those charged with managing change with a range of insights and techniques which help them to be successful
  • To help colleagues to be as effective as they can be for the benefits of themselves, their colleagues and their businesses

Course Rationale

Most changes fail! Why? Because change can stir up so much ‘stuff’. When was the last time change was imposed on you and what were your feelings?

It may be that you relished the change or felt it was going to be a disaster from the beginning. When familiar and welcome rugs are pulled from under us, we all act differently. Clearly there may be huge implications for those affected, not least they may be expected to think about or do things differently.

As managers of such change maybe we can never guarantee that everyone will be with us. One thing is for sure, that to have any chance of being successful we need to consider what is going on in their hearts and minds. When you look at things from that perspective, it becomes much clearer that if we are to be effective in managing change we need to put our attention on the very human reactions change provokes and then know what to do about it. This managing change training course offers you the tools, techniques and the confidence to cope - and even flourish - with change.

A Note from the Trainer

"Our managing change training course will be a practical day that will explore all you need to consider in terms of promoting smooth transitions which keep colleagues on board, maintain your sanity and reputation and help keep your business afloat through times of change.

"As well as looking at some general principles about the change process, to hep everyone see things a little more objectively – and less personally (if they are facing difficult situations), we will explore lots of practical solutions too.

"We will look at all the things that can get stirred up and then practice a variety of do-able ways that each person could employ to deal with each."
