Key Benefits of this Course
  • You will be able to identify what can and can’t be delegated
  • You will have an opportunity to break down many of the barriers to delegation
  • You will have a practical, workable approach to ensure that you delegate effectively

Course Rationale

Managers, Team Leaders and Supervisors are often limited in their career development by not letting go of enough. Those who can delegate effectively are able to demonstrate that they have team members who are able to take on many of the responsibilities of their own role, thereby freeing them up to move on to other areas within the organisation.

Irrespective of career ambitions, individuals who are able to delegate effectively are often far more in control of their time and able to respond to others’ requests.

There are several skills which are required to be able to delegate effectively and we bring them together in this session, providing the opportunity to work through work-based examples to practice these skills.

Course Content

  • The role, value and meaning of effective delegation
  • How to set SMART objectives for delegation
  • How to match appropriate tasks and people
  • How to manage the delegation process for significant projects and balance tasks between the team
  • How to delegate both minor and significant tasks
  • How to give feedback on delegated tasks
  • How to follow-up on delegation

A Note from the Trainer

"This course will help you to find out why you haven’t been delegating as well as you might have to date. It will give you the chance to explore your concerns about delegation, as well as developing your skills to enable you to delegate more effectively.

"It is practical and ‘hands-on’, to give you the chance to apply the theory to real situations and help you to identify how to take the skills back to your workplace. The day is full of activities and exercises to enable you to learn and practice the skills associated with effective delegation in a fun and useful way."
