 Key Benefits of this Course
  • This course will help delegates to gain the confidence and skills to write clear and professional formal business reports
  • The delegates’ organisation will benefit from improved communication and the standardisation of styles in line with corporate values.

Course Rationale

Professional business reports need to communicate often complex information clearly and professionally. They should follow a rigorous logic, produce reliable conclusions and offer clear recommendations and summaries.

It’s not surprising with the stakes so high and knowing that their writing will be so visible (usually read by many senior colleagues) that the authors of such reports can feel under enormous pressure to ‘get them right’.

Whether burdened with far too much detail or with a logic known only to their authors they can be far from the objective written tool they were intended to be.

The authors themselves may indeed be technically brilliant experts in their fields, but writing about their methods, findings and recommendations is not necessarily something they relish. As a result, reports can be the banes of their professional lives, be the source of huge amounts of angst and can take far too much time to write. Sometimes, they can also take far too much time to read and occasionally remain downright  indecipherable to busy colleagues.

This course aims to address this problem through developing a coherent and unified approach to report writing that will enable delegates to express the information and ideas they have in a clear, professional format which is comprehensible and easy to digest.

A Note from the Trainer

"You can be an extremely confident communicator until it comes to writing a formal business report. Many people find them hard work.

"We understand that most of our delegates, usually experienced professionals (usually busy) want practical solutions and fresh ideas to make the business of writing reports a little less daunting. Many people have never been formally taught how to approach writing business reports and so need either, to be reassured that they are doing things properly - or else to know where to start from scratch.

"Our workshop aims to demystify the whole process and boost everyone’s confidence to tackle those next reports with confidence and ease - to produce reports which are clear and professional, easy to read and most importantly do the job they need to.

"Whatever your experience to date, this will be a practical ‘roll your sleeves up’ sort of day where we will be taking the lid off how to write professional business reports."
