 About 360 Degree Appraisal
What is 360 Degree Appraisal?

360 degree appraisal is a powerful tool that provides people with a ‘360 degree’ view of their performance in the eyes of the people in their circle of influence at work. This acts as a virtual blind-spot mirror for their careers, revealing new insights into their working relationships. The process provides a chance to exchange performance reviews with colleagues anonymously, creating greater awareness of strengths and development areas for those receiving the feedback.

This method of reviewing someone's performance is extremely powerful and has a number of benefits:

  • provides feedback from a number of different perspectives
  • considered less subjective than a single-view appraisal as a result of the aggregated results in the report
  • helps them see the impact of their performance on the people they interact with in their role
  • is a highly effective as a development tool as it provides insights which are difficult to obtain using other methods
